Inner Hunger
We all have a hunger
for something in this life.
Some of us keep it hidden
some carry it as a knife.
Those who hide this yearning
may never know the reward...
to quench our inner thirst
is like wielding a mighty sword.
We thrust our cravings outward
tasting the flesh or food or word.
We slice through ambiguity
in our efforts to be heard.
Transport yourself on satiety
find what fulfills you most,
there should be no time to waste
don't set your self to coast.
If you choose to repress the longing
know that a part of you lies.
By denying your true expression
Your inner self surely dies.
