Shades of demolition
turned maroon behind my eyes.
Forgetting, he tramped off
careless of my yearnings.
I went through the shades of red
to total darkness
where I knew his heart once was.
I saw him there heedless
yet emerging frightened, tormented.
I persisted to purple,
some glow of a royal augur.
He answered in blue, stunned
that I was forlorn?
His smile embraced me
but promised no more.
I proceed in poverty
knowing his pious nature
will enrich me once more.
